Week 7 Chemistry Lesson
Plans September 25th - 29th
We are starting our measurement
unit and focusing on good lab skills to show accuracy and precision and making
good measuring decisions. We will consider
various types of measuring devices available in lab during the Measurement Lab
to see if the beaker, graduated cylinder, or the buret is a more precise tool
of measuring volume. We will also look
at qualitative descriptors in the precipitate lab.
Monday:
1. Qualitative Analysis Lab - due Monday 10/2
with turnitin due by midnight
2. Test tomorrow over Physical and Chemical
Properties
Tuesday:
1. Physical and Chemical Properties Test
2. Work on Labs due Monday 10/2 with turnitin

Adv. Chemistry Lesson
Plans September 25th - 29th
This week we will finish our
discussion about limiting reactants and finishing the stoichiometry unit with a
test. The concept of molarity in
concentration will be explored in the Molarity Lab. Students will prepare specific concentrations
of an unknown solution and its properties will be tested.
Monday:
1. limiting quiz back
2. Molarity notes - finish
3. Molarity pre-lab
4. Molarity handout due Thursday
Tuesday: Stoichiometry
Test
Weds:
1. Molarity Lab due Friday
2. Molarity Handout due tomorrow
3. Molarity Review due Friday
4. Molarity Quiz Friday
Thursday:
1. Part B of Molarity Lab
Friday:
1. Molarity Labs due
2. Grade Molarity Review
3. Molarity Quiz
AP Chemistry September
25th - 29th
This week we
will continue our application of equilibrium to determine reaction shifts using
LeChatelier's Principle and the equilibrium constant. We will use a virtual lab to tests these
shifts. The common ion effect will be
introduced and its role in equilibirum shifting will be explored in several
short labs.
Monday:
1. go over LeChatelier's 2
2. Quiz over LeChatelier's tomorrow
3. go over PT free response and TEST
4. instructions for virtual lab
Tuesday:
1. LeChatelier's quiz
2. virtual lab due Friday
Weds:
1. ion quiz
2. notes on common ion effect
3. common ion effect worksheet due Monday
Thursday:
1. finish virtual lab - due
Friday
2. fake blood lab
3. common ion effect
worksheet due Monday
Friday:
1. Common Ion Effect Lab and CO2 Labs - due
Tuesday
2. common ion effect worksheet due Monday
