WEEK 17 Lesson Plans April 30th –
May 4th
Chemistry I: As we finish assessing student growth using
balancing and reaction identification quizzes, we bring back the concept of
molar mass and begin applying that to the balanced equations. This will prepare students for stoichiometry
and their percent composition decomposition of potassium chlorate lab next
week.
Monday:
1. quiz II tomorrow over
identifying reaction types and balancing
2. notes over formula mass and weights
3. 8.3 due tomorrow
4. formula weights due Thursday
Tuesday:
1. go
over quiz II
2. quiz III
3. Test Thursday
4. grade 8.3
5. continue notes over formula mass
6.
spot check the formula weights sheet - to be graded tomorrow
7. Chapter 8 test Thursday
Wednesday:
1. Quiz III back
2. grade formula weights worksheet
3. Acid-Metal reaction
4. Continue notes on formula masses and percent composition
5. Chapter 8 test tomorrow
Thursday:
1. CHAPTER 8 TEST
2. formula weights due tomorrow
3. empirical formula worksheet on percent
composition due Tuesday
Friday:
1. grade
formula weights
2.
half-day (May Fete)
Chemistry
II :
We will continue our discussion on predicting if a precipitate will
occur in a double replacement reaction, utilizing the solubility of ions
rules. Students will compose a quiz and
a key for that quiz, choosing ions that, when switched, will present one
soluble and one insoluble ion. We will
later take these quizzes and student will grade their composition. The super ball lab is performed as an example
of supersaturated.
Monday:
1.
Net Ionic Equations I - grade
2. Solubility
Lab Due
2. Net Ionic 2 worksheet due tomorrow
Tuesday:
1. Net Ionic II -grade
2. bozeman 70 on Ksp
3. continue notes
4. net ionic quiz tomorow
Wednesday:
1. net ionic quiz I
2. student quiz assignment
- due Monday
3. continue notes on Solubility
Thursday: super ball lab
Friday:
1. quiz back
2. student quiz due Monday
AP Chemistry- We will finish designing our boats from model
net diagram to manila folder to butcher paper designs. We also are reviewing for the hydrocarbon
test with a review assessment.
Monday - Friday:
1. Boat Activity 1,2,and 3 due at end of week
2. Put surface area to mass ration and surface areas on
Excel document
3. Hydrocarbon Review for test - grade first three pages
Weds
4. Grade last three pages
Thursday
5. Test on Tuesday
