Week 9 - Lesson Plans for 3/4 -
3/8
Chemistry I - As we
continue naming and writing formulae for ionic and covalent compounds, we will
have labs reflecting both. Ionic
compounds will be made and examined in the Ionic Bond Lab and the covalent compound,
water, will be tested to examine the special properties of this polar molecule.

Adv. Chemistry - We will be finishing up our discussion on
acids and bases, specifically how to find the pH of a weak base using the Ka,
acid dissociation constant, and ICE tables.
We will review the unit in its entirety for the acid-base exam and also
introduce buffer systems to better understand the link between our well-being
and our blood pH.
