Week 10 - Lesson Plans for 3/9 -
3/12
Chemistry I - As we
continue naming and writing formulae for ionic and covalent compounds, we will
have labs reflecting both. Ionic
compounds will be made and examined in the Ionic Bond Lab and the covalent
compound, water, will be tested to examine the special properties of this polar
molecule.
Monday:
1. notes thru naming acids
2. ionic bonding lab – reports
due Thursday with turnitin
3. naming #1 due tomorrow
4. writing #1 due Wednesday
5. quiz tomorrow over electronegativity
and naming and writing
6. Start Penny Lab
Tuesday:
1. grade naming #1
2. quiz over electronegativity
and naming/writing
3. writing #1 due tomorrow
4. naming #2 due Thursday
5. writing #2 due Monday
6. continue Penny Lab
Weds:
1. grade writing #1
2. Penny Lab – due tomorrow
3. quiz I tomorrow over naming
and writing
Thursday:
1. grade naming #2
2. writing #2 due Monday
3. Penny Lab due
Adv. Chemistry – Thermochemistry
continues as we look at Hess’s Law and the energy needed to change from a solid
to liquid to gas and the heats of fusion and vaporization required. Labs
on thermodynamics will explore both endothermic and exothermic reactions.
Monday:
1. Specific Heat homework due tomorrow with quiz
2. no ion quiz this week
3. notes thru Hess's Law and enthalpy
4. enthalpy homework due Thursday
5. Quiz over it Thursday
Tuesday:
1. grade specific heat
worksheet
2. quiz over it
3. enthalpy worksheet
due Thursday
4. quiz over enthalpy
Thursday
5. watch Bozeman 33 on
endo and exothermic reactions if time
Weds:
1. COOL REACTION LAB - due Monday
2. enthalpy homework due Thursday
3. enthalpy quiz Friday
4. Bozeman 33
Thursday:
1. grade enthalpy homework
2. enthalpy quiz
3. Snowball on Fire pre-lab
4. Cool Reaction Labs due Monday
AP Chemistry – We are finishing the
equilibrium unit with an unknown precipitation lab and taking our test over the
unit.
