Week
9: Chemistry I Lesson Plans October
10-13
This week we will continue our
measurement unit, focusing on heats of
combustion with the glucose and fatty acid molecules designed and tested in the
WebMO Computational Lab. Students will
test the chip for amount of energy produced when burned and evaluate the data
collected by each class. We will also delve
deeper into our discussion of dimensional analysis, scientific notation,
calculating with exponents, and using significant digits.
Tuesday: burn the chip!
Wednesday:
1.
Turn in Energy of Foods Lab and class data
2.
grade practice sets I and II on scientific notation and exponents
3.
temperature worksheet will be graded tomorrow
4.

Chemistry II Lesson Plans: October 10-13
This week we
will continue our discussion with various gas laws in the Gas Laws Unit. A short quiz will act as an assessment for
each law. Students will perform the
Cartesian Diver Lab and design a cartesian diver of their own to demonstrate
and explain Boyle's Law. Smarty Pants
awards will be given to the class with the best Marshmallow Man to put in the
vacuum chamber - another way to show Boyle's Law!
Tuesday:
