Chemistry I: This
week we will focus on the difference between physical and chemical properties
and changes and proof that a chemical reaction has occurred. The
Physical and Chemical Properties Lab is be used to refer to these concepts with
the lab report due at the end of the week.

Chemistry II: This
week we will continue our discussion of limiting and excess reactants using
stoichiometry problems and labs. These are big ideas in the study of
chemistry and are used throughout the year. The sodium bicarbonate
and sodium carbonate ratio stoichiometry lab where the limiting and excess
reactants are found as well as ratios.
Monday:

AP Chemistry: This
week we will continue our exploration of alkenes, alkynes, and isomers. T-shirts will start development and students
will create the J-hook glass apparatus for the underwater Fireworks Lab where
we make and ignite acetylene (ethyne) under the fume hood.
