Week 5 Lesson Plans Sept 14-18 

 

Chemistry I – The objective this week is to finish up our unit on physical and chemical properties and changes and the review of the elements for a Unit 2 test.  We begin the measurement unit and focus on good lab skills to show accuracy and precision to make the best measuring decisions.  We will consider various types of measuring devices available in lab during the Measurement Lab to compare the beaker, graduated cylinder, or the buret as a more precise tool of measuring volume. 

 

Monday:

1.  Qualitative Analysis Lab - due Monday 9/30 with turnitin due by midnight

2.  Finish notes

3.  Go over Unit II homework

4.  GTK Chapter 2 due 9/22 Tuesday

5.  Turnitin due tonight by midnight    

6.  Book assignment Reviewing Concepts page 28 #10, 17, 22 and Problems 1,3, and 4 due Weds

7.  Test on Friday

Adv. Chemistry – This week will continue our exploration into stoichiometry.  Students will use their dimensional analysis and rounding to proper sig figs skills while working various problems.

 

Tuesday:  

1.        Spot Check and Turn in Packet homework

2.        Quiz Thursday over it

3.        Stoichiometry Notes

4.        Stoich set I – due Monday

 

Thursday:

1.      Grade 7.3/7.4

2.      quiz over formula masses

3.      Quiz Monday over the chapter

4.      Stoichiometry Notes continued

5.      Finish Stoich set I and begin Stoich set II

 

AP Chemistry – This week we wrap up the Solubility Unit with a Test and begin our study of organic chemistry.  The chapter 4 AP book review is applied to this unit so we will begin with a review over bonding predictors and inter/intramolecular forces.
