Week 7 Lesson Plans
September 24th - 28th
Chemistry I:
We are finishing up the
physical and chemical properties and changes unit and starting our measurement
unit. Here we will focus on the
best lab skills to show accuracy and
precision and making good measuring decisions.
We will consider various types of quantitative measuring devices available in lab during the
Measurement Lab to see if the beaker, graduated cylinder, or the buret is a
more precise tool of measuring volume.
We will also look at qualitative descriptors in the precipitate lab.

Adv. Chemistry
This week we will finish our
discussion about limiting reactants and finishing the stoichiometry unit with a
test. The concept of molarity in
concentration will be explored in the Molarity Lab. Students will prepare specific concentrations
of an unknown solution and its properties will be tested.

AP Chemistry September
25th - 29th
This
week we will continue our application of equilibrium to determine reaction
shifts using LeChatelier's Principle and the equilibrium constant. We will use a virtual lab to tests these
shifts. The common ion effect will be
introduced and its role in equilibirum shifting will be explored in several
short labs.
Monday:
1.
PT Test tomorrow
2. finish notes on LeChateliers
3. LeChatelier's worksheet I due Weds
Tuesday:
1. PT review test
2. LeChatelier's worksheet I due tomorrow
Weds:
1. ion quiz Friday
2. grade LeChatelier's I
3. LeChatelier's worksheet II due Friday
Thursday:
1. LeChatelier's Principle Lab with cobalt
chloride complex - due Tuesday
2. LeChatelier's worksheet II due
Friday:
1. ion quiz
2. grade LeChatelier's 2
