WEEK 17 - Lesson Plans May 7th – May 11th

WEEK 17 - Lesson Plans May 7th – May 11th
Chemistry I:  As we finish assessing student growth using balancing and reaction identification quizzes, we bring back the concept of molar mass and begin applying that to the balanced equations.  This will prepare students for stoichiometry and their percent composition decomposition of potassium chlorate lab next week.

Monday:
1. id quiz back
2.  % composition due
3.  notes on percent composition
4.  quiz Thursday over formula weights

Tuesday:  CHAPTER 8 TEST

Wednesday:
1.  % composition of potassium chlorate lab - due Friday
2.  % composition worksheet - due Friday

Thursday:
1.  quiz over formula weights - use Periodic Table and ion sheet
2.  Labs due tomorrow
3.  % composition worksheet due tomorrow

Friday:
1.  quiz back over formula weights
2.  finish lab if needed
3.  % composition worksheet due
4.  continue notes

Chemistry II:  We will continue our discussion on predicting if a precipitate will occur in a double replacement reaction, utilizing the solubility of ions rules.  Students will compose a quiz and a key for that quiz, choosing ions that, when switched, will present one soluble and one insoluble ion.  Saturation is discussed and students will review for the chapter test.  AP course books and homework are assigned

Monday:
1.  net ionic quiz back
2.  partner quiz due
3.  partner quiz Friday
4.  continue notes thru saturation

Tuesday:
1.  continue notes on solubility
2.  bozeman
3.  hand out July and August homework
4.  slime lab?

Wednesday:
1.  finish notes
2.  final review handed out
3.  solubility quiz tomorrow
4.  test on Weds next week

Thursday:
1.  solubility rules quiz II
2.  solubility review - due Tuesday
3.  Test next week on Weds the 16th

Friday:
1.  take partner quiz
2.  reviews due Tuesday
3.  Test on Wednesday

AP Chemistry:  We will finish designing our boats from model net diagram to manila folder to butcher paper designs.  We also are reviewing for the hydrocarbon test with a review assessment.  The nine organic compounds related to hydrocarbons are introduced.

Monday-  AP TEST

1.  grade pages 4-5 of hydrocarbon review
2.  test on Thursday
