WEEK FIVE - Lesson Plans Sept 10th – Sept 14th

WEEK FIVE - Lesson Plans Sept 10th – Sept 14th
Chemistry I:  This week we will focus on the difference between physical and chemical properties and changes and what indicates that a chemical reaction has occurred.  The Physical and Chemical Properties Lab will be used to refer to these concepts with the lab report due at the end of the week.
Monday:
1.  Day Three of Physical and Chemical Properties Lab
2.  Reports due Friday with turnitin submitted by Monday midnight

Tuesday:
1.       Finish lab if absent
2.       Work on Lab reports on lap tops due Friday Sept 14th, turnitin by the 17th

Weds:
1.       Grade GTK ch 1
2.       Continue notes thru energy
3.       STP and changes worksheet due Monday

Thurs:
1.       grade GTK ch 2
2.       Continue notes thru STP
3.       STP side together in class

3.       Labs due
4.       turnitin due Monday

Chemistry II:  This week we will continue our discussion of limiting and excess reactants using stoichiometry problems and labs.  These are big ideas in the study of chemistry and are used throughout the year.  The baking soda and vinegar bottle rocket lab will give students an opportunity to use stoichiometry in a hands-on, inquiry-based stoichiometry lab activity where the limiting and excess reactants are found.

Monday:
1.  Quiz #2 over balancing
2.  bottle rocket pre-lab and group design
3.  limiting probs due tomorrow
4.  Quiz #2 tomorrow over stoichiometry

Tuesday:
1.       Quiz #2 over stoichiometry
2.       limiting problems due
3.       rocket lab

Weds:
1.   balancing quiz back
2.   go over limiting homework
3.  stoich quiz #3 on Friday

Thursday:
1.  stoich quiz #2 back
2.   rocket lab

Friday:
1.  stoich quiz #3
2.  finish rocket lab
3.  stoich review due Tuesday
