WEEK FOUR Lesson Plans: 1/82 – 2/1

WEEK FOUR Lesson Plans:  1/82 – 2/1
Chemistry I - The idea of assigning quantum numbers for every individual electron in an atom is explored further as students focus on the outer shell electrons and the orbit, orbital, and spin each one has.  The Laser Lab uses nanotechnology to find the spacing between tracks on a CD.  Classes and students judge their individual and group accuracy and precision in order to evaluate and improve measuring and lab skills.  The Periodic Table is further explored as trends in each main group are studied.
Monday:
1.  laser lab due Weds - no formal lab report needed
2.  grade notations 1
3.  quiz 4.2
4.  notations quiz tomorrow
5.  notations 2 due Wednesday
6.  Finish Notes on POMS

Tuesday:
1.      4.2 quiz back
2.      quiz 2 over notations
3.      review 4.2 due Thursday
4.      notes on periodic trends
5.      notations practice quiz due Thursday
6.      Laser lab due tomorrow
7.      notations 2 due tomorrow

Adv. Chemistry - Naming acids and bases will be reviewed and the concept of titration to find an unknown molarity is introduced.  Ions need to be memorized in order to be able to name the acids.  Different types of acid definitions are given in order to understand how acids play a role in living systems.  The acid-base lab explores reactions of both.

2.  naming ions due tomorrow
3.  notes on naming acids

Tuesday:
1.  grade naming ions
2.  go over strong acids and strong bases for quiz
3.  continue notes on naming acids
4.  naming acids and naming bases review sheets - due Friday
5.  finish naming acids side of ions paper for Thursday

Weds:
1.  strong acid/strong base pop quiz
2.  continue notes into titration

Thurs:
1.  MOM demo
