WEEK 8 - Lesson Plans for Feb 25-29

WEEK 8 -  Lesson Plans for Feb 25-29

Chemistry I - Students will continue to learn the different types of bonding and how to predict which type will occur.  We will explore intermolecular and intramolecular forces that hold molecules together.  Practicing naming and writing formulae is a very important skill and we will continue this throughout the year.

Monday:
1.       Tests and labs back – turnitin!
2.       Grade alkali metals
3.       Grade electronegativity homework tomorrow
4.       Quiz tomorrow over it
5.       Continue notes on writing ionic compounds – stock system
6.       Both sides of naming ions and compounds due Wednesday

Tuesday:
1.       grade electronegativity
2.       electronegativity quiz
3.       ionic compounds I and II due Thursday
5.   naming and writing set #1 due tomorrow
6.   example problems together

Wednesday:
1.       grade pickle labs
2.       column worksheet 50 pointer due

5.  quiz tomorrow over naming ionic and covalent compounds

Friday:
1.  grade naming ions I
2.  quiz up thru covalent compounds
3.  pick up set #2 - naming and writing due Tuesday

Adv. Chemistry  - The idea of an equilibrium constant to find the pH of weak acids, which do not break apart like strong acids do, is explored.  We will dust off the quadratic formula - MATH RULES!

Monday:
1.        ion quiz back
2.       pH curves quiz
