Weeks 15 and 16 Lesson Plans for November 17th – 22nd, November 24th and 25th

Weeks 15 and 16 Lesson Plans for November 17th – 22nd, November 24th and 25th
Chemistry I - Assessment for the Measurement Unit will be a two part test combining dimensional analysis with significant figures, metric system, specific heat, scientific notation, and rounding rules - with everything in between!  The atom will be explored in chapter 3.  Students were asked to draw a Manganese atom, labeling where the protons, electrons, neutrons, and nucleus are located as well as a way to key them out in the drawing.  This activity inspires the students to learn more about these subatomic particles and shows them that it has been a while since they last visited the atom.  The concept of the mol (an amount of substance) will be introduced in a lab.
