Chemistry – We will start the new year with chapter 4 over the dual nature of light.  It acts like a wave and also like a particle.  Superheated plasma of various elements will be viewed using the spectroscope and calculations of  wavelength and frequency demonstrate the different types of radiation, both good and bad.

Adv. Chemistry – We will continue learning about acids and bases as we look at what makes a weak versus strong acid and base and the properties that go with acids and bases.  Another lab using reactions of a strong acid and a strong base is performed to learn more about them.

AP Chemistry – This short week will finish up our discussion on ch 8 review over phase diagrams and phase changes.  Equilibrium notes are also introduced which ties together everything we have learned over the past three years.
