Week 9 lesson plans March 2-6

WEEK 9 -  Lesson Plans for March 2-6

Chemistry I - Students will continue to learn the different types of bonding and how to predict which type will occur.  We will explore intermolecular and intramolecular forces that hold molecules together.  Practicing naming and writing formulae is a very important skill and we will continue this throughout the year.

Monday:
1.       Tests and quizzes back
2.       Grade electronegativity homework tomorrow
3.       Quiz tomorrow over it
4.       Continue notes on writing ionic compounds – stock system
5.       Both sides of naming ions and compounds due Wednesday

Tuesday:
1.       grade electronegativity
2.       electronegativity quiz
3.       ionic compounds I and II due Thursday and Friday
4.   pick up Ionic Bonding Lab for tomorrow

Wednesday:
1.      electronegativity quiz back
2.      column worksheet 50 pointer go over
3.   naming ions I and II due tomorrow
4.  Begin Ionic Bonding Lab – reports due next Wednesday with Turnitin

Thursday:
1.  turn in naming ions –Block checks side one and hands back if problems
2.  finish lab and work on lab report
3.  finish side two of ionic compounds II

Friday:
1.  notes over covalent compounds and naming acids
2.  set #1 - naming and writing due Tuesday
3.  lab reports due Wednesday

Adv. Chemistry  - We will review for the acid/base test later in the week ending with conjugate acid and base pairs.  Themochemistry unit begins with a review from Chemistry I over specific heat.

Monday:
