WEEK 1  Lesson Plans August 17-21

Chemistry  –  This week will focus primarily on lab safety rules, demonstrations, and discussion as safety is our first priority in a lab course.  We will also begin lecture on “what is chemistry?” and discuss the units of study for the class.  The glassworking lab introduces lab equipment and safety.

Tuesday:

1.   questionnaire with 5 questions due 8/20

2.   go over pre-test, class rules, and lab safety contract due with parent signature Monday 8/24

3.    Lab tour and safety rules and demos

4.   GTK book due Monday 8/24

5.  GTK chapter 1 due Weds 8/26

6.  Finish Unit I notes blank set

7.  lab equipment and lab drawers

8.  periodic table

Thursday:

 1.  Finish Unit I notes - What is Chemistry?
