Lesson Plans September  1st  – 5th

Chemistry I:  This week will focus on using lab to learn about physical and chemical properties.  Our first unit test on lab equipment, types of chemistry, and the scientific method will assess our chapter one knowledge and we will begin chapter two by learning the elements.

Monday:  NO SCHOOL LABOR DAY

Tuesday:  OPEN HOUSE from 6-7 pm
1.  Go over Unit I Review
2.  Unit I Test
3.  Finish discussion on lab reports
4.  Physical and Chemical Properties Pre-Lab

Weds:  Day One of Physical and Chemical Properties Lab - properties

Thursday:  Day Two of Physical and Chemical Properties Lab -changes

Friday: 
1.  Finish Lab – reactions
2.  Lab reports due next Friday 9/12
3.  Set up turnitin.com account

Advanced Chemistry:  This week we will use the Potassium Chlorate Lab to apply our knowledge of percent composition, empirical and molecular formulae, and stroichiometry.

Monday:  NO SCHOOL LABOR DAY

Tuesday:  OPEN HOUSE from 6-7 pm
1.  Quizzes back
2.  Potassium Chlorate Lab – due Monday 9/8
3.  Turnitin.com information

Weds:
1.  Continue Stoichiometry notes
2.  Stoichiometry Problems I worksheet due Tuesday
3.  Finish lab - Day Two

Thursday: 
1.  Discuss Lab
2.  Finish Stoichiometry Notes on percent yield
3.  Labs due Monday

Friday:
1.  Smores Lab
2.  Potassium Chlorate Labs due Monday
2.  Stoichiometry Problems I due Tuesday

AP Chemistry:  We will continue our study of organic chemistry while applying our knowledge of inter and intra molecular forces.    The nuclear chemistry review of ch 3 is due Friday.  Chemistry Club t-shirts using ultraviolet developing will be made so we have something to wear on our visits to the elementary and junior high schools. 

Monday:  NO SCHOOL LABOR DAY

Tuesday:  OPEN HOUSE from 6-7 pm
1.  Questions over Nuclear Chemistry Review.
2.  T-Shirt designs are due.
3.  Intermolecular Forces lab discussion – labs due.
4.  Ether homework due tomorrow.

Weds:
1.  Ether homework due.
2.  Dye the t-shirt material.


Thursday:
1. Develop t-shirts
2. Work on Ch 1 free response quiz due tomorrow. 

Friday:
1.  Finish t-shirts.
2.  Ether Quiz Monday.
3.  Nuclear homework due.  Questions?
